The 140th Street station is a local station on the IRT Ninth Avenue Line in Manhattan, New York City. It has two levels. The lower level was built first and has two tracks and two side platforms and serves local trains. The upper level was built as part of the Dual Contracts and has one track that serves express trains that bypass this station. This station opened on September 17, 1879.
