Delta Line Project
The Delta Line Project is a Roblox experience that focuses on a fictional heavy rail rapid transit network mainly inspired from Hong Kong and London. The line was built by anguslau20060805 and the Cloud Workshop development team in early 2021 and has a few stations based on the Vancouver Skytrain, running between Brentwood Town Centre and Delta stations. The main line links the fictional cities of Delta and Brentwood, while other lines provide service to areas around the city.
A supplementary bus route parallels the Delta line but this only runs in an emergency where buses must be spawned in by administrators.
History edit
The line opened in February 2021 with automated three-car 1100 Series as the sole train type. This train could carry about 50-100 passengers although the server capacity was set to 25. Set 1103/1145/1126 became the main workhorse of the line with power car 1105 as backup until May 2021, when a revamp was conducted. Other trains were also used and could be found on display in the Delta Line Museum. Due to lag, only one train set could operate a time, resulting in poor frequency for players. A branch line called Angle Shuttle was also opened, which has one 9700 Series train set. As of now, the Delta line uses slightly revamped 1300 Series trains (a refurbished version of the 12xx) for regular service.
In May 2021, the original Delta Line trains were temporarily replaced by real life MTR trains from Hong Kong during the HK week event. During the event, Metro Cammell EMUs. Kinki Sharyo/Kawasaki SP1900s also entered service on the line. Unlike the relatively stable original trains, these special trains were prone to glitches and were often recorded derailing easily. After the event, the 1100 Series trains were replaced by the 1200 Series, which is a slightly modified version.
Some time later, Delta Line loaned some train sets to The Ryan Railroad, as to celebrate 1 million passengers on the Roblox Star Line.
In August 2021, an interior shot of a Japanese-style next stop system was teased over the Roblox Multiplayer Calling, Hong Kong Facebook group for a new train set. On August 25, 2021, Cloud Workshop, the line's developer announced that an Airport line would be opened. The update in late August 2021 also added more train types and lines, which were now custom built compared on various train models. A LRT line was added between Brentwood West and Brentwood North Depot, using an automated people mover (APM) based on a Bombardier Innovia-100 APM. Trains were also equipped with a click to sit feature.
This update further added an overarching authority over the system known as Delta Region Transit, responsible for both rail and bus operations. However, the new lines have been shut down temporarily until their trains are stable and work properly.
An admin train based on the Metro Cammell M-Train can also be spawned by admins, although it is not driverless.
In 2023, the Angle Line was renamed the Central Line, being extended to connect with the Airport Line and the rest of the system. A new line, the Harbour Line also began service, using the 61xx Series sets. Unlike the trains used on the Delta and Central lines, despite operating automatically, the 61xx EMUs have driver's cabs, although they are not accessible to passengers. This implied that these services once required drivers to operate the trains. Further innovations included real time tracking of heavy rail trains, which show where each set is near stations and real time arrival displays at all stations.
Lines edit
Delta Line edit
The Delta Line is the principal rapid transit line of the system. It links the fictional cities of Delta and Brentwood
Airport Line edit
The Airport Line opened on May 2021. This line was an important line which served the airport area and the delta city with Brentwood West and Millenium opening in Brentwood. This line has a interchange with the Angle Shuttle (Now Central Line) at Angle Land Port, Delta Line at Delta and LRT line at Brentwood west. This line runs East to west from Delta Expo to Millennium.
After few weeks of opening, the trains started to derail on the line which caused the developer to revert to the last version, causing it to close.
It reopened in September 2021 and was closed again. Finally, it reopened in November 2021.
LRT Line edit
LRT line was opened in May 2021 following with the Airport Line and had a interchange at Brentwood West with the Airport Line. This connected Brentwood west to Brentwood north depot and having a intersection with the Delta line at Brentwood North Depot. This line uses single car trains based on a Bombardier BI-100 APM to run with the normal tracks placed on the line.
This line runs from Brentwood West to Brentwood North Depot.
Central Line edit
The Central line (initially named Angle Shuttle) was opened to operate between Angle land port and Guiliford Road. Trains running on this line shared the depot with Delta line. Later, the line was extended to Brentwood East following the closure of Guilford Road. Before the opening of guliford road the line ran from Brentwood east to Angle Land Port with London Tube- inspired trains running back and forth between the stations. After the reopening of Guilford Road the line was extended to Central with 3 new stops which were Metro Town, West Central and Central. Central is the station where a bus terminal is connected with the station, which allow for connections to suburban areas. Guliford Road was revamped with lower and upper platforms and cross platform interchange with the Delta line. There was new bridge section placed on the river after Brentwood east and before Metrotown station.
The line was renamed to Central line after the reopening of Guilford Road and the extension to Central.
Harbour Line edit
The Harbour Line runs between West Central and the city of Hyacinth. Marked orange on the map, it uses 61xx series trains. This line serves as a commuter route for people who live outside of Delta proper.
